From www.thedailytimesnews.com 11/04/99 Mrs. Oppie Lou Shatterly Davis BURLINGTON — Mrs. Oppie Lou Shatterly Davis, 67, of 323 Baldwin Road, died at 11:05 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, 1999, at White Oak Manor Nursing Home after eight years of failing health, one week critical. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Jerry G. Davis and the daughter of Mr. George Alexander Shatterly and Mrs. Julia Frances Thompson Shatterly, both deceased. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Donna Davis Westbrooks of Burlington and Miss Deanna Lynn Davis of Yanceyville; a son, Mr. Donnie Davis of Burlington; three sisters, Mrs. Bonnie Atkins and Mrs. Judy Combs, both of Graham, and Mrs. Karen Spicer of Clemmons; four brothers, Mr. Harold Shatterly, Mr. Raymond Shatterly and Mr. George Shatterly, all of Burlington, and Mr. Bill Shatterly of Florida; and four grandchildren.She was preceded in death by a sister, Ms. Jane Rich. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Randell Innes and the Rev. Phil Hardy. The family will be at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 1 to 2 Saturday afternoon, and at other times at the home of Mrs. Donna Davis Westbrooks, 126 Tarleton Ave., Burlington.
